Being laid off isn’t as big of a stigma as it used to be.

But it can affect your confidence.

I know it can feel like you are the only one. Because nobody talks about it.

Does the common advice for job searching feel gross to you? Does it make you want to throw up in your mouth a little?

The common advice is:

😳 Go to networking events.

😳Message people that you have never met before on LinkedIn.

😳Create 35 different versions of your resume.

Not only is this advice emotionally taxing, it’s also largely ineffective.

Want to try a different way?

This is what I do. For the past 6 years I have worked with 171 job seekers (well technically 771 if you count my masters students.) I teach them how to get jobs when the last thing that they want to do is market themselves for a new role.

Most of my clients were in a toxic work environment, going through a divorce, recovering from health issues, or just not feeling confident at that point in their lives.

Here are some examples of clients I have worked with:

Sarah K got her dream job in tech, but it turned out to be a toxic environment. Before her contact ended she landed the role that she is still in today and love.

Alison worked with me to make a huge pivot from elementary school teaching to Zillow landing a 90% increase in salary. She called me after she had gotten laid off. By the time we talked she had already landed another job. There was no interruption between jobs, she started the new job before her severance ended, she got a signing bonus and a higher salary.

🙌I think I can show you how to look for a job in a way that feels more authentic.

We will go over the 3 things you should do when you get laid off.

How to:

  1. Start networking with the people that are most inclined to help (hint: I won’t ask you to reach out to strangers)
  2. Draw out your most valuable skills
  3. Avoid having to spend hours on your resume for every job application

We will meet at Hennepin Co Ridgedale Regional Center

12601 Ridgedale Drive Minnetonka, MN 55305 United States

*Free venue parking

This event is completely free. There will be no sales pitch.

HEY, I'M LYNN. I’m a job search strategist.

🙌 I will never encourage you to “fluff” your resume. Authenticity is important to me and a big part of what I teach.

☕I MUST start every day with an iced coffee.

đŸ’«Teaching has always been my superpower. You may currently feel like your superpower is a disadvantage. (I mean, why would Microsoft want to hire a teacher? But..they did.)

🌄I lived in Medellin, Colombia, for 8 years. My dream city would be a mix between Seattle and Medellin.

💡 I never expect you to believe everything I say because I said it. Ask me why.

đŸ˜șI have two cats, Fito Paez and Charlie Garcia.
